This semester we are hosting an advanced version of the Analytics Workshop in collaboration with Michael Gaudet from Benevity! This workshop will discuss web analytics, metrics and KPIs, Google Analytics, attribution, careers in analytics, and other analytic technologies. Although this will be a more in-depth session, no previous experience is required.

The world’s best imaging and design app, Photoshop, is at the core of almost every creative project. Want to learn more about how to use Photoshop? The Photoshop Workshop, hosted by Alliance in Marketing is the event for you! The Information Design program at Mount Royal University, will be leading the workshop, showing you HOW to use it, WHAT you can achieve with the program, as well as answering any questions you may have. So, if you would like to learn about the ways you can ENHANCE your photographs, web and mobile app designs, videos and more, join us and get to creating.

Who’s excited for fieldtrip to advertising agencies? AdCrawl is an Calgary advertising agenicy touring event, hosted by Alliances in Marketing (AIM). AIM will be touring several advertising agencies in Calgary in order to gain knowledge about the daily life of a marketer at an advertising agency. Every tour at each of these agencies will offer an wide view of insights, a deeper look into their opperations, current projects, and a great chance to networks with successful individuals!
The day will begin at Scurfield hall, where a bus will pick the group up around 8:30 AM. Students will then visit 3 agencies, where they will get a tour of each as well as a first-hand look at their recent work. The group will be dropped off at Scurfield hall at the end of the day, around 3:00 PM.

As a follow-up to the LinkedIn 101 Workshop, LinkedIn 201 will dive deeper in job searching strategies and personal brand development!
You have a LinkedIn profile. It’s filled with great experience, your interests and you follow your dream companies. Great – but now what? How do you know you’re connecting with the right people? How do I make those connections meaningful? What can I do to stand out from other students? By attending FREE LinkedIn 201 Workshop, you will understand additional features on the platform (Alumni, Groups, interests, etc.) and apply that knowledge to connect, share and build your online personal campaign.
This workshop will be facilitated by Haskyane Career Centre counselor Tania Jamiault.

With the help of Michael Gaudet from Benevity, Alliances in Marketing is hosting a FREE digital marketing workshop focused on SEO, SEM, and how companies use these tools to their advantage. This workshop will discuss a number of technologies, such as Google Analytics and will help you understand how search engines affects marketing.
This will be an introductory workshop, so beginners as well as students with previous knowledge are welcome to attend!
December 1st, 3:30 to 6:00pm in Scurfield Hall 280
At Industry Night, you’ll hear presentations from 6 esteemed Calgary business people, as they discuss how they got into their role as well as the biggest challenges along the way. Afterward, you’ll be grouped with 3-5 other students to engage in speed-networking with our industry representatives.
All attendees also get party bus transportation and VIP entry to Cowboys Nightclub after the event.
The goals of the event is to help students:

November 24th, 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM in the BMO Forum (3rd floor, Scurfield Hall).
In this FREE workshop, you will learn the importance of using social media for digital marketing purposes. Topics discussed include: the evolution of social media, crafting a brand personality, and developing a content.
November 22nd, 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM in RGO room (Scurfield Hall 465).
In this workshop, you will learn the basic functions of Adobe InDesign as you work on designing your resume. Ben Kunz, the chair of the Information Design program at MRU, will guide you through how to create a new document, how to place images, proper use of white space, and much more!
Transportation is provided by bus (pickup at 3:30 PM at Scurfield Hall Parking Loop).
November 3rd, 3:30 PM – 6:30 PM at Mount Royal University
LinkedIn 101 is a learning workshop where students will learn the importance of LinkedIn, what LinkedIn is, how to create and use a LinkedIn profile, and what the benefits of it are. Students will also understand the importance of LinkedIn in a business perspective and how students can use it to develop, expand, and stay connected with their networks.
LinkedIn 101 will be happening on 2 separate dates for the same session. One on October 19th, 2016 from 3:00pm to 4:30pm and the other on October 20, 2016 from 10:00am to 11:30am.

The ITP Lab was created in 2011 by Dr. Tom O’Neill in order to further knowledge in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, with a special focus on behaviour in student and industry teams. The ITP Lab has developed an online platform that can assess, track, and report on individual and team metrics. We are looking for a BComm or MBA student to develop and lead the ITP Metrics marketing strategy. The successful applicant will have strong academic performance and previous marketing experience, including: strategy development, coordinating and directing social media campaigns, and presenting to internal and external stakeholders. Students working towards other degrees who can demonstrate strong academics and experience in this area may also be considered. This is a part-time, flexible position, and requires a great deal of initiative, self-direction, and independent critical thinking. Salary commensurate upon experience.
